Kia ora koutou e te whānau, he mihi nui ki a koutou katoa!

“Greetings and acknowledgements to you all”

I hope you have all had a great couple of weeks with your children, I know the staff are looking forward to re-connecting with them tomorrow 🙂

I just wanted to take a quick moment to reach out before the “rubber hits the road,” say hello and just let you all know how excited I am, and privileged I feel to have been gifted the opportunity to lead as the new Principal at Ngaere School.

Born and bred in Hawera, Taranaki has always been home and Ngaere School has always had an amazing reputation as one of ‘schools of choice’ in the area. I look forward to ensuring that this continues to be the case.

There are many exciting opportunities that lie ahead and as I get to know you all in the days, weeks and months to come – I look forward to connecting with you in collaboration and consultation to review and evaluate the oportunities afforded to our children.

NB: The school website will be updated in coming weeks to ensure it reflects current school practices/contact details etc.

With Pet Day on Wednesday, we won’t send another formal newsletter out this week, so please see below for some key information.

Kia pai ō wiki! (Have a great week!)

Ngā mihi

Shane Burgess (Mr B)

Ngaere School Pet Day Crafts

Term 4, Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th October 2024

As part of our annual “Pet Day” celebrations the children will exhibit craft creations they have made. These creations are made during the first two days back in Term Four.

A list of the activities that each class will be participating in and any materials they will need to supply from home was outlined in the previous newsletter.

These are very busy days so if you are able to come in and help, please reach out your child’s teacher.

Please send all craft materials to school in a named bag on Monday but any required plant materials on Tuesday.

All craft is available to view in the classrooms on Pet Day and between 6-7pm on Wednesday night. We ask that craft items stay at school until Thursday morning.

Community Communictaion Review: In order to continue to provide excellent opportutnities for our students, a review of systems is important.

To begin with, we’d like to start by looking at the way we currently communicate with parents and our wider community. To help us evaluate the effectiveness of our current practices, please complete this short survey by clicking HERE
