Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Not a lot of info from me this week as our amazing teachers are doing such a great job of communicating what’s happening in our classes. HERO seems to be doing its job as intended.
It’s hard to believe that we’ve reached the end of Week 7 already. It’s been a jammed packed term with lots of professional learning experiences for staff as well as sporting and cultural opportunities for our tamariki to get amongst. These all support ensuring we offer first class educational experience for our young people.
Gala: A massive THANK YOU to our amazing PTA, team of helpers, staff and our sponsors for their support in ensuring that the gala is set up to be raging success. A real-team effort to be proud of!
Rural Cluster Swimming Yr 5-8 – Tuesday March 18th: Stratford Pools – 10:00am start – all Year 5-8 students will be involved, come along and support if you can.
Kapahaka: This takes place for all students every Monday afternoon at 2pm – parents and whānau are welcome to attend
Music Lessons: This year, we’ve managed to get Karl Anderson into the school to offer music lessons in drums, guitar and ukulele. So far, uptake has been positive. If this is an experience you’d like to explore – reach out to Karen or I and we will put you in touch with him. These are currently happening during school hours on a Wednesday.
PTA/Board of Trustees Hui: We have a PTA meeting at 7pm Monday 24th of March and Board of Trustees meeting at 6pm on Wednesday 26th March.
These are public meetings and we’d love for more parents to come along and get involved in supporting our staff to ensure Ngaere is the ‘local school of choice.’ We do need some new members to embed and sustain what our outstanding current teams have started. If this sounds like you, reach out and we can chat about what’s involved.
- The PTA AGM is set for Monday 5th May (7pm)
- Board Elections will take place in September – watch this space
Feedback: As always, we welcome and encourage feedback from our community. It’s always nice to hear what we’re doing well as well as any areas that may require growth. Please reach out to me at any time, or pop in for a chat!
Looking forward to seeing you all at the Gala!
